COPPICE COMMUNITY CHURCH
Pastor Roman Naumenko

I was born in communist Ukraine. When I was 13 the USSR broke up and missionaries were permitted to enter my country. Some YWAM (Youth with a Mission) missionaries visited my school and led me to a joyful acceptance of Christ as my personal Saviour. I joined a fast-growing church called 'Christian Hope' in Kyiv and graduated with a degree from Kyiv Bible Institute before coming to the UK to attend Bible School at New Life Christian Centre in Croydon. Here I met my wife Ruth and we set up home in Ukraine where I worked as Youth Pastor at Christian Hope, Kyiv and later International Church (Assemblies of God). After seven years the Lord guided us to return to UK with our three children Abigail, Daniel and Gideon where we settled in Addiscombe and I became Youth Pastor at Christ Church, Anerley (Church of England).
After 21 years of youth ministry, preaching, leading Bible Study and other church work, the Lord guided me to look for a new role in ministry and I applied to Coppice Community Church for this role as their current pastor Paul Flynn was retiring.
In November 2025 I had the privilege and blessing to be appointed to serve as Pastor at Coppice but am thrilled that Paul will be staying as a greatly valued member of the church.
My passion is to introduce Jesus to those who have never met Him, that they would enjoy a close friendship with Him, receiving His Holy Spirit, His unconditional love and eternal life. I love to teach God's living Word (The Bible) revealing to all believer's their new identity in Christ and how to receive and live in the light of all that His finished work on the Cross purchased for them
